About John Huffman

Proud Texas Conservative​

John Huffman is a native Texan, small business owner, and proud homeschool dad who has spent his life fighting for faith, family, and freedom. As a City Councilman and later Mayor of Southlake, he cut tax rates, balanced budgets, improved services, and stood firm against radical ideology in schools.

Record of Results

John led Southlake as a true fiscal conservative:

  • Balanced city budgets

  • Passed real tax cuts – tax rates below the “no new revenue” rate, maxed out homestead exemption

  • Stood up to the overbearing federal government and national media

Disaster Relief Leader

John has led in crisis—both in government and on the ground:​

  • As Councilman, during Winter Storm Uri, he helped lead the city’s emergency response and communications

  • In professional life, he helped homeowners recover from Winter Storm Uri

  • Personally led a donation and relief effort to North Carolina after Hurricane Helene

Conservative Priorities

  • Cut taxes and reduce regulation

  • Strengthen public education and expand school choice to let parents choose the right educational path for their children

  • Secure the border and stop cartels

  • Expand Texas energy: oil, gas, nuclear

John and his wife Elizabeth have been married nearly 20 years and homeschool their three high school children: Caroline, Andrew and Anna. They attend Countryside Bible Church in Southlake.​
